Denmark is currently participating in a reintegration programme for rejected asylum seekers who want to return voluntarily to Iraq.
The objective of the programme is to provide reintegration support to rejected asylum seekers who voluntarily decide to return to Iraq. The reintegration programme is run by the ETTC (European Technology and Training Centre) and covers central and southern Iraq.
Denmark has 40 places in the programme, which terminates in 2020.
UCN Nordsjælland is responsible for planning departures – including making contact with the embassy to secure relevant travel documents.
Who can take part in the programme?
The programme is available to any asylum seeker from Iraq, during any phase of their asylum application in Denmark – this includes asylum seekers who wish to withdraw their application for asylum.
This means that there are no major restrictions regarding the selection of asylum seekers who can take part in the programme. However, it is a requirement that you cooperate with the authorities in regard to your departure from Denmark. You must also be a citizen of Iraq.
