Denmark is currently participating in a reintegration programme for rejected asylum seekers who want to return voluntarily to Afghanistan.
The objective of the programme is to provide reintegration support to rejected asylum seekers who voluntarily return to Afghanistan.
The reintegration programme is run by IRARA (International Return and Reintegration Assistance) and includes a medical examination at Kabul airport, temporary accommodation in Kabul for up to 2 weeks, advice, onward transport within Afghanistan and reintegration support of up to USD 2,800 per person to assist in setting up a business etc.
This means that each member of the family is eligible for the same payment. Note that the amount is not paid directly in cash, but is used to pay for materials to start a business.
UCN Nordsjælland is responsible for planning departures – including making contact with the embassy to secure relevant travel documents.
You can contact Mr. Mir Amir from the Danish Refugee Council every Thursday by phone, if you have questions about the programme. Mir speaks both Dari and Pashto.
Mir’s telephone number is: 3373 5224.
