Denmark is currently participating in a reintegration programme for rejected asylum seekers who want to return voluntarily to Somalia.
The objective of the programme is to provide sustainable and dignified reintegration of individuals who voluntarily decide to return to Somalia. The programme is run by the Somali branch of the Danish Refugee Council, and covers return to selected towns in central and southern Somalia, as well as Puntland and Somaliland.
UCN Nordsjælland (the police) is responsible for planning departures – including making contact with the embassy to secure relevant travel documents.
Who can take part in the programme? You would have to fulfil a number of requirements in order to join the programme.
The Danish Refugee Council in Denmark performs an initial screening, after which the Somali branch of the Danish Refugee Council makes the final decision as to whether you qualify for the programme.
